
Khalanga. A one-day orientation program on food storage and kitchen sanitation for school principals and cooks organized by the World Food Program has been held in Tribhuvan, Nalgad Municipality, Delhi today.
Facilitating the program, the principals and cooks of 30 schools in Nalgad where the lunch program was implemented were facilitated by Krishna Thapa, Field Coordinator, World Food Program, Jajarkot. He said that it should be kept safe.

Thapa said that lunch program has been implemented in 61 schools of Nalgad and orientation program will also be conducted for the principals and cooks of other schools. Another facilitator at the event, Govinda Dhabi, said that school principals and cooks should pay proper attention to storage to prevent the negative message of the society towards the program as insects, grasshoppers and rats destroy food and cause shortage of food for the students throughout the month.

Hikmat Chaudhary, field assistant of the World Food Program, explained about the method of storing food and cleaning the kitchen.
The lunch program has increased student enrollment, sustainability and improved the nutritional status of children. The program has given 80 grams of rice, 20 grams of pulses, 10 grams of oil and 2 grams of oil per student in one day.
