Socialist Youth Organization Nepal Calls for Strong Boycott of Feb 21 Parliamentary Elections

“An Election Orchestrated on Foreign Orders Is a Knife in the Back of the People” — Akash Karki

Kathmandu. Socialist Youth Organization Nepal has called for a powerful nationwide boycott of the parliamentary elections scheduled for Falgun 21, 2082 (early March 2026), branding the polls as “anti-people, anti-national, and a conspiracy against national sovereignty.”

In a strongly worded press statement, the organization said Nepali society is trapped in a deep political, economic, and sovereignty crisis, and that the so-called parliamentary election has been imposed to conceal this national failure.

“The growing foreign interference in Nepal has turned the election into a staged drama to install puppet faces of foreign powers,” the statement reads. “Against the will and aspirations of the people, the ruling forces are attempting to declare ‘elections completed’ while systematically looting national sovereignty.”

The organization accused those in power of manipulating state institutions after failing to secure their desired candidates through normal means. It alleged interference in the judiciary, withdrawal of serious cases related to money laundering and organized crime, and the rehabilitation of compromised figures through the electoral process.

“The army and police are being reduced to mere tools for election management, while the rulers openly signal that they already know how the ballot boxes will be filled,” the statement said. “This is a direct assault on the faith and democratic rights of thirty million Nepalis.”

Socialist Youth Organization Nepal condemned the election process as fundamentally anti-democratic and anti-sovereign.

Leader Akash Karki urged civil society, intellectuals, teachers, journalists, students, professional bodies, and political parties to unite for the formation of an all-party government and to strongly boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections.

“The need of the hour is not another broker government, but an independent people-oriented government that stands with the masses, safeguards national sovereignty, and moves Nepal toward a socialist direction,” the statement said. “For this historic mission, Socialist Youth Organization Nepal has firmly entered the field of struggle.”

The organization concluded with a call to intensify resistance under the slogan:
“For the rights of the people, for national independence, and for a socialist future —
Boycott the fake election, form an independent people’s government.”
