Surkhet : Taking the opportunity of Saraswati Puja, social worker Shailendra Bista has provided educational materials to the children of vulnerable families.

Students Bhanubhakta Bhattarai, Bhupendra Bhattarai and Krishna Bhattarai studying at Shree Nepal Rastriya Chandrasanga Secondary School in Ward No. 11 of Birendranagar Municipality have received educational materials.

The children’s mother works in a restaurant. Due to poor economic condition and large number of children in the family, the children had difficulty in getting education.

Shailendra has contributed materials including copy, dot pen and pencil.

Accepting the help of educational materials, 12-year-old Bhupendra Bhattarai has expressed his gratitude to Shailendra Bist. “Thank you so much for providing educational materials to children from poor families like ours. We will never forget the virtues of becoming good people by reading and writing,” he said.

Shailendra said that he was fortunate to be able to help the children who were facing difficulties in reading due to lack of educational materials on the day of Saraswati Puja.

Engaged in social service, Shailendra is active in many such social activities. People from different walks of life know him as a combative social worker.
